Silver Spring

I'm in Silver Spring for the weekend. Do I have any fans in this town?

Indeed. Where do you plan to daven? KMS has a lot of orthoprax types (whether they know/admit it or not) though the Shul itself takes the collective going through the motions quite seriously (e.g., by strongly frowning upon schmoozing and kids' talking on the one hand while also frowning upon singing or clapping on the other hand).

I live in Columbus OH, but my father, Rabbi Chinn, lives in Kemp Mill. He runs a nice little shteibel in his basement.

I remember a Rabbi Chinn from ages ago. He came to visit the Dinovitz's.

See if you can find Dan Rabinowitz. AFAIK not OP but a good schmooze.

whats KMS?

KMS = kemp mill synagogue, the big MO Shul in town. The Young Israel, known as 'shomrei' has more of a yeshivish and old-timer crowd.

He didn't say he would be in Kemp Mill.

Where will you be XGH?

He may need to bring some hardcore meds of he's going to be in White Oak.

That or hit up the kiddush club early and often.

Kemp Mill. But due to a mix up I went to the wrong minyan (earlier rather than later). So my wife says to me 'So go to the next minyan and just pretend to daven'. And I respond 'But I already went to the first minyan and pretended to daven! Badaboom. She was not amused.
